Oregon is like a condensed version of the entire country; it is clad by vast green countryside, verdant wilderness, high deserts, pristine waterfalls, placid lakes and mighty snow peak mountains.
Here are some of the beautiful sights you might encounter in Oregon:
1. Crater Lake – The gorgeous deep sapphire waters of the caldera of Mt. Mazama beckons tourists. It is situated in Crater Lake National Park and measures 5 by 6 miles. It is a highly revered site for the Klamath tribe of Native Americans.
2. Mt. Bachelor – a favorite winter destination in Oregon is the mighty Mt.Bachelor formerly named Bachelor Butte. Here you can get a wild experience by actually riding behind a real dog sled team or go skiing at the MountBachelor ski area which operates a chairlift during summer.
3. The Oregon Dunes – Vast rolling windswept sandy hills dominate the Oregon Coast, said to be the largest coastal sand dunes in North America. The Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area (NRA) is part of the Siuslaw National Forest, a popular tourist destination in this territory. You will never run out of things to do here, whether you’re into horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, hiking, camping, and you can even ride an ATV.
4. Valley Farms and Vineyards – One of the most beautiful features of Oregon is its vast agricultural land and vineyards that are pleasing to the eyes. Drive around this vast states and marvel at the lovely countryside scene; bright yellow canola flowers, grape vines, wheat farms and clover fields among others.
5.The Painted Hills of Oregon – A top tourist attraction in John Day Fossils Beds National Monument in Wheeler County, Oregon is the Painted Hills. Its name is derived from the beautiful blend of red, ochre, gray, black and brown colors of its layers. This kaleidoscopic color is due to the ancient river floodplain that hit the area millions of years ago.
